Fashion Wishlist 3: And Then Some

Straight from the community are a new bevy of wishes that would like to see come true. The very popular Fashion Wishlist is here to bring you some more goodies that we like to see on Home.

By Jin Lovelace; TT Founder

Costumes, costumes, costumes, fashion, and some dances, Home has become a playground for such commodities listed. From the days of movie/cinema-based costumes to now just creative, imaginative apparel that we all can cos-play as, long gone are the times that dressing as any of the Star Wars characters were the big deal.

This time around, I've went around the Home community to ask what they wish to see released on Home and to my dismay, Costumes was the average answer I was receiving. Even more: game-related costumes. Recently, we've received some anime costumes based on the genre's namesake "Galaxy Express 999" so this may open some doors to some more anime/movie related content coming to Home.

So here is a list of some costumes and a few fashion commodities that I and some of the Home viewers would like to see in stores sometime in the future.

Hed Kandi Fashions & Dance

To my admittance, I never knew who or what, or even where this name came from aside from one of a friend's attention to a recent rise of a dance animation that's appearing on Home through item system exploitation but for what it's worth (and for her enthusiasm of seeing this in the north american shores of Home) I felt this should be mentioned in the wishlist simply due to how sensual the animation appeals to me. But from first impression, I thought the name Hed Kandi was an actual person; it's not.

The name is actually synonymous around the music industry circa 1999. Specializing in the Nu Music genre, they have over a ton of single and album compilations under their belt. That doesn't stop there neither, for they also head over a slew of multi-media content, from fashions, audio equipment, to partnering with a reknown Hotel for their house music and concerts.

From a few samples of the music I've listened to, I have to say it's not half bad at all. In fact, it's something I would love to hear on Home, compared to some of the ear aching loops I hear in the Hub or the x7 Club.

With that, the dancing animation that's surfacing in Home right now garners a second look. Unlike the current dances we have by nDreams, the Hed Kandi Dance (as what my friend calls it, which I think she'll appreciate :3) actually loops and, from my understanding, you only activate the dance by simply wearing an item.

But how bad does the community desire this animation to be brought here over to the NA Home? Well there is a petition online for it by Naughty Dog (Google Search Hed Kandi dance Petition, as it routed me back to the Playstation Home forums), and there is a nice video by a Home user showing off the said animation.

As far as their fashions, they are pleasantly gorgeous and nice on the eyes. They are more tailored toward the Clubbers (one who likes to go to Club Bars on a weekly basis) but for the styles alone, I don't see why they don't be translated to Playstation Home. Very colorful, stylish, and suitable for such scenes like the Singstar space.

I also find the hairstyles to be pretty impeccable as well. can we say "more hair variety please?" :)

Colorful and sensational. Imagine dancing in one of the styles at a Club setting on Home.

Lavishly colorful styles to choose from.

The Fifth Element

"I'M Korben Dallas and this is my wife, Leeloo."

This was something I teased a friend on in regards to seeing more movie-based costumes on Home but if anything, we've received some quality costumes by Lucas Arts (the Star Wars franchise and Indiana Jones) and content from X-Men and James Cameron's "Terminator". Europe also enjoyed some fantastic releases of the G.I Joe costumes and even had a contest for the Iron Man costume.

All of the movies listed above are great to their respects---the heck with it, we need The Fifth Element here on Home. WHY? Two words: RUBY RHOD!

"Right On, Right On!" --Right On!

If you've been living under a rock, this movie defines eccentricity and blissful fun. The characters in the movie were outstanding, the music was awesome, and this is one of the only few movies who I could give great props to Milla Jovovich for her portrayal of the cute, naive, precocious "Leeloo". nevermind the awesomeness that is Bruce Willis or how you saw Friday's Deebo himself, Tommy "Tiny" lister, actually attempts to capture his audience by being a President, no no no! This movie is just awesome! Right on, Righ on! RIGHT ON!

On that note, we MUST have the Flaustin Paradise personal (or public) space on Home for a proper setting for these costumes. I also see mini-games like "Be like Diva Plavalaguna" which would be an awesome rhythm game, and "Mangalore Take Down" which you have to suit up to take down the Mangalores themselves. OH! How about you could even have some LMO animations based from the movie? SERIOUSLY, WHY ISN'T THIS ON HOME? D8 *shaking in excitement*

**ahem**

Homeling's worst threat? Take these baddies down in "Mangalore Take Down", Korben Dallas style.

I would pay to rock a solid Diva Plavalaguna outfit.

Seriously, her LMO animations would be awesome to compliment her costume.

For the Leeloo fans, I know she had touched many many hearts, so I feel she would be the most "repped" out of all of the costumes. I still would rock the Ruby Rhod costume though. :P

"Leeloo Dallas, Multi Pass!"

And finally, we have the protagonist and antagonist of the film, Korben Dallas himself and Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg.

Tekkaman Blade (Teknoman)

My friend, Norsegamer (of HSMagazine), written an article on his love for Galaxy Express 999 and it's release on Playstation Home. While I some what enjoy the anime for what it is, bringing the costumes to Home is a great delight to the fans.

For me, however, I've had a great fondness of one of my all-time old school animes: Tekkaman Blade (or the Saban Entertainment version "Teknoman").

I would remember waking up on a Sunday morning anticipating for this show to come on, right after this cartoon titled "Space Strikers". The anime itself is loosely based around the character by the name "Blade" (or in the show "Slade") who happened to mysteriously appear before a federation of Blue Earth called the "Space Knights" helping them defend from a alien invasion attack. The story goes rather deep, as you find out more on Blade's past, the inner works of the Space Knights, and so many twists and turns into the series than what your mind could muster......in a good way, that is.

So much for this anime are the cool mech armor the characters transforms intio. With so much of the said mech designs found on Home, I don't see why we couldn't have something similar to the effect of creating armor designs much like Tekkaman Blade, or even Ronin Warriors.

Tekkaman Blade and Saber

There are some characters that could work pretty well as costumes on Home...

-Blade (Slade): the main character.

-Saber: Blade's antagonist and his brother.

-Balzac: One of the Space Knights and a pilot of a man-made Tekkasuit. He has deep jealousy towards Blade.

-Shard: Blade's Sister who isn't under the main antagonist's mind flux, Darkon. She aids her brother which may cost her her life.

- Darkon: the main antagonist of the series and the one who controls the Venemoid alien army. He also holds a very dark secret that not even Blade knows until the very end. FAQ: in the english dubbed, he is voiced by Paul Schreier aka "Bulk" of the Mighty Morphin Power Ranger series.

Each of these characters possess their own respective armor and abilities. If the recent Sentai inspired Strikeforce release from Konami or Lockwood's Iron Fusion series has taught us anything is that we need more variety like this in Home.

Shard

Darkon

**NOTE: due to the epic nostalgia that's lain in this segment of the article, I  rather post the intro of the american version of the title intro and wish to leave you on the journey to search for the original Japanese title intro of Tekkaman Blade. In my humble opinion, it isn't as epic awesome as this.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

This February, the sequel to one of my all-time favorite games based on my all-time favorite game series is coming to the Playstation 3. For the Home community, the lot seem to have been clamoring for more Metal Gear commodity and to expand beyond the T-Shirts and Naked Snake's costume.

I'm just going to go out of the limb and yes I agree to this completely because, well lets be frank: Konami has been pretty seldom on their release of video game related costumes as of recent. So for me, being the imaginative avid fan that I am, releasing some Home content based on this excellent upcoming action game would be welcoming to the fans in the community. Who would desire to weird the High Frequency Sword, or have custom LMO animations in Raiden's Suit? Perhaps have the Dog as a companion?

Raiden and his companion can be a great commodity piece for Home.

Here are some more goodies from the users I asked. This one, in particular, is pretty old school; something that no one has mentioned to me until the production of this article, and one that caught me by surprise.

Bust A Groove

Comet
When my friend told me about her love for the Bust A Groove games, I quite literally was in awe. The game was more along the lines of being a dance/combat game which were some what similar to that of Konami's Dance Dance Revolution fame, which has some of the exact aspects but more tailored to demolishing your opponents with items the more points and the accurate your button inputs are.

I think this would be a neat thing to see on Home because of the quality, fun music that was presented and the outfits are a gateway to nostalgia.

Here are some other costumes that were suggested to be on Home as well.

Blazblue for Home?

or costumes inspired from Blazblue? Would love to see something like this on Home.

Conclusion

We're moving into an era where costumes are being produced on a quality scale compared to what we were receiving before, with so much attention to detail are being applied to the items. While the recent releases are a treat that're inspired from other properties, the aforementioned suggestions can really spark up some conversations amongst the Home community, especially the fans of such titles and genres.

If you have any favorite movie, anime, or even games that you wish to see on Home leave a comment below and tell me your thoughts. :)
