TT Fashion Pick-Ups Vol. 1

Twilight Touch presents a weekly format "Fashion Pick-Ups". This first volume features Wrangler's new apparel, as well as Billabong new swimsuit style and what everyone's wearing under the Granzella brand.

By Jin Lovelace.

April 16th saw a truck load's worth of fashion dumped into Playstation Home, with such featured brands like Billabong, Granzella, and the return of Wrangler. I've been expecting new colors for the Billabong Bikini line but with this new style they've released, it caught me by surprise.

Even more on how the Wrangler brand has been released. Not only did Veemee release the brand in the stores, but also gave us a sneak peek at the X7 Club.

And though Granzella had brought to us a new Turtleneck and Skirt style for all to enjoy, I took a step back and saw something that caught everyone's attention. "Oh wait, what? Jin Lovelace? Following a trend" you say?

Don't get it twisted; it piqued my curiosity. :P

With that, lets see what in my closet now.

Billabong

To keep up with some of their new bikinis and the colors is a slight bit of a hassle these days, as it's overall aesthetics isn't "hitting it" for me.

But the new Nicole bikini bundle (for $1.49) is a must if you're looking for a new style to add to your set. If anything, this is a monotony breaker to my bikini wardrobe, as far as style goes. Very sexy, sensual, and not overbearing on the overall presentation.

The top combines well with the comfortable Laying Low Pants, now in the new Thundercloud color ($0.99). As I spoke before on this, new colors like this needs to be experimented on Home and this looks wonderful. Whether you're on the shore side, or laying on your canopy at your Tropical Escape, the two items combined really gave me the most comfort one could possibly ask for.

The new Beach Me - Just Peachy--for $0.99--top adds a diverse way to stylize your beach attire. This upbeat top can be donned with a Bikini bottom or your favorite denims but assures that you'll stick out like a sore thumb at the Beach.

Lastly (not pictured), I've managed to pick up Billabong's Love Bucket spring dress. The flower motif gives it a fresh spring feel and retains the sensuality a bit while holding a bit of class.

Overall: this release was pretty decent on the fun factor. if it wasn't for my love for the Laying Low pants, I've would had passed this up but the Nicole bikini style really caught my attention and was more than enough to appreciate the rest of the items more. However, I've passed on the Reina - Charcoal bikini simply due to the lack of interest.

Wrangler

This was where the fun was at. When I learned that Veemee were releasing all new Wrangler wear on Home, my expectations were mediocre at best until the day of their release.

I know I've slacked a bit on my wrangler write ups of the past but to be honest, I wasn't as nearly "hyped" as I was with this wave. I was expecting a dress or two from the release but given the fact that the design choices were a bit questionable, it was best that they focused more on the Pants and Tops.

And focused they've been with this new release. The attention to detail was really clear, as their tops no longer features the baked-in look; they resemble the real-world styles that I know and love.

This time around, there we a range of styles released from Winter Coats to long sweaters. The Sky Knit - Mid Gray Melange outfit--yes, it's an outfit--stood out the more to me but I really hate how this is an outfit and not as two separate items. But the style isn't something you see often on Home, so I went ahead and bought it.

To start, the outfit is $1.99 and dons the long knitted Mid Gray Melange-colored Sweater over Wrangler brand black denims. The Sweater itself is just as cute as it is comfortable. It's a shame really that this isn't a separate purchase, for I foresaw how this wasn't coming off me at all.

The Authentic Night Shine Jacket and Jet Black Kay T ($1.99) was yet another highlight to my wardrobe. The detailed purveyed is wonderful (much like the Leather Jacket found in Diesel, which is another Veemee creation **gasp**) to the eyes and dons so fittingly, which I favor more than their Blazer. I fit them with the Stokes - Scuffed Indigo ($0.99) Jeans for this presentation but surprisingly the Jacket fits nicely with Billabong's Jovie Denims Blue or Black.

Wrangler also have done sensational work with their selection of quality Jeans. Now I personally have a love/hate relationship with some of the the Pants from this brand, mostly due to how the Princeton Fade Jera Jeans don't casually fit with other items on Home (though the item is in an experimenting phase). This time around, the Jeans are versatile and easy to wear, easy on the eyes, and simple enough to create an optimal style for you.

I went on ahead and picked up all the denim styles due to the aesthetic interests in them (all for $0.99, I might add). I really don't favor any of the pants over the other; I like them all for what they are, but it is to note that the Courtney - Pebble Creek are a bit too skinny for some's taste but with the right top and enough imagination, I've came up with a style that works for anyone who desires just enough comfort just about anywhere.

Overall: there is too much to mention on how many items I've purchased from this wave but really, is there anything else I need to say about Wrangler this time around? You can see the passion from Veemee with these items and Wrangler is much accessible this time around with their new Jeans and Tops. Many had an excuse on how Wrangler wasn't very combination friendly to them before but I find it to be completely rubbish in a way.

For me, however, I really can't wait to see what else is in store with the brand.

Granzella

I didn't find much appeal these days on Granella's apparel. With the exception to the much recent Furisode School Kimonos (of which I'm a fond of), the rest were something I might explore at a later date.

Much to chagrin, the Wind & Earth Clothing Set (for $2.49) captivated me enough to garner a purchase simple because it has its Granzella charm. This native set is available in four colors (red, brown, white, and black) and comes complete with a top, short and long Skirt, Boots, Bracelets, and Head Piece. I honestly desired the brown set more just to play with some complex outfits but white seems more feasible of a buy, even if everyone owns it.

What grabbed my eyes about this garb is of how accessible it is. If anything, this is something of much appeal to all that owns the apparel but to be honest, that's really about it. It isn't to say the set isn't worthy of your money. By all means, this is a really good take on the apparel and I really enjoy it. But if you ask me if I'm "moved" by the said set, I can honestly say "no, I'm not". Maybe I have to work with the items a bit to see what I can come up with.

Overall: to their credit, Granzella released a selection of sexy dresses which warrants a look, along with some nice hairstyles. The gowns are two pieces--each for $1.99--that are a stray away from their usual bundle. But again, this is something I'll be looking into soon. :)
