The second volume of the Fashion Pick-Ups continues right off with the newest line from Veemee, and some nice Wrangler and Billabong items. Here's what you should be picking up this week.
By Jin Lovelace.
Veemee is on a roll.
And I mean that in the greatest way my mind can conceive. Over the course of a few months now, Veemee has dropped several accessible fashion items that made this fashionista's mouth water.
There are a ton of apparel from Billabong, Wrangler, and Veemee's new line "Street Styles" which are urban wear that holds a legitimate statement to the fashions presented.
Last week, however, has been pretty interesting on some items I've purchased and though Veemee is really where the party's at, Lockwood and Granzella also has some goodies as well (of which I will be handing out some reviews of the items over the next few articles). Here's what should be in your wardrobe right now.
Wrangler
Wrangler's apparel line for Home has been a remarkable exploit this time around. The Louisiana Jacket caught my eye for an easy casual finish with Wrangler's own Cary Jeans Stonewashed. Though your standard flair of jackets you would see on Home, what turned me on was that it's fashionable and accessible to many wonderful denims in your wardrobe, provided if you have any. The desert brown hue is also a great color choice and something that's much different from the typical color options you see from other apparel of its kind.
Much to chagrin is the stigma about how certain pants aren't easy on the Heels and Boots, which would turn away a few heads of those who're eager on branding such footwear with their favorite jeans. Just to denounce this sort of thing in the shortest version: the footwear you see above are the Scrunchy Boots you can find in Threads. :)
Though not pictured, I found the Dot Shirt and April Shorts to be two intriguing items that I've picked up and wore. Vastly different, I'd say, from the short shots and hot pants that you see today; the latter seems to actually convey a classic summer look with a classy finish. The former is a lazy shirt that I enjoy lounging around in my Harbour or out and about in a casual public setting. Combined, the off-the-rack design holds quite a legitimate appeal and flavor. Something you ought to try.
Lastly, I've also added the lovely Georgia Still Water dress to my growing stable of gowns. For $1.99, the royal color design with a polka dot motif is a sensually attractive dress that took me by surprise on how natural and comfortable it is. So comfortable that not a lot of accessories are needed.
Street Styles
Veemee's new line of clothing was reviewed as a legitimate urban style fashion line that will set a nice trend in the community. This time, one item I added to my wardrobe is the popular Shoulder Slung Top - Yellow Stars. This top has an old school feel and something in me wanted to just give it a try. Instead of going the typical route of exploiting a black mini-skirt combination--of which in its own right looks good--Wrangler's Megan - Carbonite jeans adds much personality and off-color to the commodity. For an attractive price ($0.99), I recommend owning one if you haven't yet.
However, the Megastar Dress and Jacket - Pink design was n eye-opener for me. Much to say, this is probably my favorite concoction from this line as of date. The shimmering detail laced on the dress with a cropped jacket finish is a brilliant style that holds such a legitimate sexy appeal and gives a nice gesture of attitude to come with.
What was outstanding to me was the price point for something this extraordinary: $0.99. When I first saw this, I was expecting the average $1.99 tag for the dresses from Veemee fashions, but for something absolutely brilliant for something brilliantly priced? Sold!
Billabong
Normally my wardrobe would be filled with every single Billabong purchase from each release, I took a few steps back this time in favor on featuring their newest addition to their skirt family: In Ur Dreams - Whitecap.
Like the Rio Mio skirts you'll find under the same name brand, the price for it only $0.99. Unlike the aforementioned skirts, this mini skirt has a crochet finish with an elegant appeal and can be combined with a few--well, if not a lot--tops in your wardrobe.
What you see above is one of my many examples with something old like the Corset Ribbons top from Threads. I personally feel that it was about that time that the brand would release a white skirt and though it may not be a variant of the lovely Rio Mio (sigh), this definitely is nice addition to my growing wardrobe. The pleasure to this is how the said top really plays so well with the crochet motif.
Another is Threads' Birds Tank Top in Blue apparel, which is for $0.49. To be honest, when I look at those birds fluttering about in front of me, I just want to take a can of bug spray and spray away while yelling "RAID?!" as they helplessly fall to the ground one by one. Yes, they are that annoying to me, but deep down I couldn't hurt these little birdies, so instead I wanted to exploit them with this lovely skirt. The playful, yet innocent nature of the top adds some depth and personality to the appeal which I found myself wearing for quite a while now. I legitimately enjoy the design. :)
So should you own this skirt? Absolutely! It's a wonderful addition to the Billabong line and is definitely a fine white skirt that you could play with and enjoy to your own leisure.
Granzella
Oh Granzella, how I love thee. Your apparel on Home has not been properly exploited and so few who dare to don your Kimonos and Edo era-inspired commodity would never appreciate such fine lines and colorful motifs as much as this fashionista would.
Upon gazing in the store, I found quite a few items that tickled my fancy which would be better suited in a separate article. But for this fashion pick-up, the School Uniform Pants - White intrigued my curiosity and managed to just purchase them instead of the complete outfit (it comes with the Jacket).
My reason for this purchase is the classy, sophisticated appeal of the pants that goes highly well with Granzella's own Tube Top - Red Wine item. That has been something in my mind ever since the pants release, but managed to finally combine them with one of my favorite items from the line. If anything, the pants are also easy on the Heels that doesn't fall prey to the bleeding through stigma found in certain commodity of its kind.
Overall
It's clear that Veemee has a passion for fashion and one thing is for sure; they aren't stopping with the release of the real world brands or to exploit the love of the medium themselves with their creative talents. I highly recommend the items mentioned if you're looking to step into a diverse and versatile realm of apparel that speaks to your character, and not a facade curated to deflect the natural, real you. :)
